Riri Shushu no subete (2001)

Predictable rating from this old guy. This is a movie for younger, serious film buffs. For me, the movie as a whole makes a very strong argument against kids having access to internet chat rooms. And if I want to watch jerky, amateur camera action I will go to Youtube.

The Road (2009)

From all the talk and reviews I knew I was in for a rough ride. But distressing as the film is, I was heartened by the genuine tenderness between the boy and his father. Kodi is beautiful and an incredible young actor. Viggo Mortensen was also impressive.

Now I just HAVE to see 'Let Me In.'

Robby (1968)

A nice visual treat. The way it captures the sense of place you can almost feel the heat of the sun and warm saltwater around your feet.

The Rocking Horse Winner (1949)

A modern gothic fairy tale that is eerie and compelling. J.H. Davies is appealing and very convincing as the driven, pathetic youngster. He was a fine young actor.

Room (2015)

Aside from his very cute looks, Jacob is a very good actor; here he is allowed to play every mood from bratty to terrified. (He sort of reminds me of Gordon Gebert from Holiday Affair (1949) )

Roveh Huliot (1979)

The story has some power. It is very hard to be detached and objective about Arik Rosen.

Runaway (2009)

"Oliver Twist for our own era." Hm.

Well, at least they didn't throw a lot of F bombs into it.

Some fine acting jobs and the boys are great.
