The NeverEnding Story II: The Next Chapter (1990)

Watchable enough, and Johnathon Brandis gives an ok performance, but it doesn't quite have the magical sparkle of the first.

Oliver Beene (2003-2004)

The nostalgia of The Wonder Years with the anarchic comedy of Malcolm in the Middle. That's what I'd heard about it - but I have to say it's more than that. Again, the producers have seen the light and not bothered with canned laughter, meaning we have the opportunity to laugh at what WE find funny.

Oliver Twist (2005)

I can't quite put my finger on why, but I feel very indifferent about this movie.

Barney Clark was good as Oliver, Ben Kingsley was very good as Fagin, and the rest of the cast were good. It was watchable enough as a whole, but I just didn't feel as 'drawn into' the movie as I was expecting to be.

One Hour Photo (2002)

I'm not a Robin Williams fan by any stretch of the imagination, but his performance in this was superb. I'd agree with josephk that it's more of a character study than thriller, and a fairly well balanced study at that : while at times he's definitely painted as the villain, at others you're allowed to see his point of view. Good ending as well.

Overboard (1987)

One of those 80's thow-away comedies. Reasonable enough, with one or two funny moments to recommend it.

Parenthood (1989)

Fantastic movie. This is Steve Martin in his element, just before he started to go downhill with such movies as Bilko...

Of course the performances from Leaf Phoenix & Jasen Fisher, and Max Elliot Slade's short role were very cool as well :)

Pay It Forward (2000)

Very good performances by all leads, especially Haley. Well directed and a good storyline.

Would've been a fantastic movie if it weren't for the closing scene.

Pete's Dragon (2016)

Lovely family film. Maybe I think about these things too much, but after Pete was left alone in the forest after his parents died, it took me until half way through the film to stop crying.
