Pretty good film in which, for the only time, three of the greatest boy film stars in history appeared together: Freddie Bartholomew at the peak of his career; Mickey Rooney at the start of his; Jackie Cooper on the verge of ageing out of kids' roles. At the time these kids had a star power that is now the exclusive preserve of adult actors.

Any movie Freddie Bartholomew is in is a great movie. We see him here moving in with his dad and his attempts to get in with a gang was futile. With some boxing lessons he finally got in and now they must find a tombstone for one of the members whose dad was executed by the state. With no money they have to resort to crime and little Freddie came up with a very clever plan on how this can be done. A great movie and a great boy cast!!!
