The book (by Rhidian Brook) is considerably better. This film is also nowhere near in the same league as the best cinematic treatments of the emotional and intellectual pull of religion, such as Love Like Poison and Léon Morin, Priest. Nonetheless, it is a nice treatment of an unusual and important subject, and John-Paul Macleod is beautiful.

NETFLIX!!! I have to go with this as a movie well-worth watching. I thought John-Paul did a beautiful job (and was beautiful as) Taliesin Jones. Sure, it's slow and "preachy" but, like "Wide Awake," it touched me greatly. Oh, and he has the MOST incredible blue eyes!

I can't help it, but I found this one boring. The acting is not too good, the visuals are pathetic and the theme is lamely elaborated.
