Synopsis
Gene Simmons from rock band Kiss has a short time in which to transform a group of schoolkids into a fully fledged rock band. In season 1, Simmons selects a completely tone-deaf 13-year-old boy (Josh Bell) from amongst the genteel pupils of a co-educational boarding school in West Sussex to be the lead singer of his band. (Josh, who adopted his rock persona with enthusiasm, was later on to become an ordained deacon in the Church of England.) In season 2, Simmons went to work on a class of comprehensive school pupils. This season was most notable for the emergence of Lil' Chris (Chris Hardman).
