Synopsis

When Dick and Dorothea Callum go on holiday to the Norfolk Broads they encounter the Coot Club, a gang of local children comprising Tom Dudgeon, twin girls 'Port' and 'Starboard', and three younger boys - Joe, Bill and Pete (the "Death and Glories"). The Coot Club was formed to protect local birds (such as the coot) and their nests from egg collectors and other disturbances. When a noisy and inconsiderate party of city-dwellers - dubbed the 'Hullabaloos' by the children - hire the motor cruiser Margoletta and threaten the local wildlife, it is up to the Coot Club to protect it.

Notes

Based on "Coot Club" (1934), the fifth book in the series of twelve "Swallows and Amazons" books written by English author Arthur Ransome (1884-1967)
This miniseries was followed by a sequel, Swallows and Amazons Forever!: The Big Six (1984).
