Synopsis
A young orphan is sent to live with his strange, much older cousin in a remote country house, where he begins to have terrible visions of a young girl and boy whose hearts have been torn out.
Notes
- Based on the 1904 short story of the same name by M. R. James
- First transmitted on Christmas Day 1973 at 11:35 pm
- This is in fact the second television adaptation of M. R. James' classic ghost story. The first adaptation was in 1966, for an episode of ITV's 'Mystery and Imagination' anthology series. However, no recordings of this episode are known to exist (though the audio track survives).
