Synopsis
In the painter Tadas' workshop there is a strange relic: a necklace made of wolves' teeth, given to him by his father, who along with thousands of others was sent to Siberia as a supposed 'enemy of the State'. This necklace recalls Tadas to his boyhood when, following his father's imprisonment, his mother, unable to support her son alone, sends him to live with his granny and uncle on their farm in rural Lithuania. When, after a few years, the boy finally returns to live with his mother, he finds that she has taken to selling her body to make ends meet. When, at last, his father returns home, both his wife and his son seem to have become very different people.

A good movie about a Lithuanian painter expressing his torment of his youth through his paintings. Via flashback we see his father arrested for being an "enemy" of the state and his mother turned to prostitution, and we get to see him getting intimately involved with his first love Both Linas (as boy Tadas) and Ricardas (as teen Tadas) were both great in their respective roles.
