Synopsis
Somewhere in Europe in 1901. A village in the woods near a river port. Laurin is a 10-year-old girl with visions that may lead to the identity of a child-killer in the village. Her fatherless playmate Stefan is the target of schoolyard bullies. Van Rees, the new schoolteacher, is alternatelly kind and brutal to the two of them. Slow-moving and atmospheric.
