Those 270 minutes will stay with me forever. JMB was so lucky to meet those boys, yet he and they suffered so much... so much loss, so much tragedy, so much death, so much distress, and yet, so much love, so much inspiration, so many moments that make you heart melt, the purest glorification of boyhood.

If Andrew Birkin's book on JMB and his boys is the one book you have to read in your life, this documentary is the one movie one has to see.

This man, his boys, their lives and mutual love, the "spark" that turned into Peter Pan - purest poetry of the heart, written by the hands of fate, so sad, so utterly devastating, and still bristling with sentimentality, joy and pure inspiration.

This is excellent, one of the best series ever from BBC. All the boy actors shine and Ian Holm gives a crusty, vivid portrayal of J.M. Barrie.

The actress Ann Bell bears an uncanny resemblance to the real-life Sylvia Llewelyn Davies.

Ian Holm gives an outstanding performance and is far more convincing as J.M.Barrie than is Johnny Depp in Finding Neverland. This series is also far more realistic than the glossy Finding Neverland. If you want to have a reasonable insight into Barrie then watch the series. If you simply prefer entertainment then watch the Depp movie.
