Synopsis

Merijntje Gijzen is a small boy growing up in a god fearing community of the Dutch countryside in the early 1900s. When he befriends a poacher with a really bad reputation, he is slowly driven to a confrontation between what he experiences in life and what he is told by the church. A powerful social drama about daily life and poverty.Later released on DVD as a 3 disk limited edition containing all eleven episodes (over 10 hours in length).
